Q:
How do I buy airline tickets? |
Top of Page |
A:
To buy an airline ticket on Mi-Travel go to www.mi-travel.com and look for the purple colored box titled "Quick Search For Air Travel". Please indicate if you would like a round-trip or a one way flight, the round-trip option will be selected as default form of flight. Enter your departure city, your destination city, and the date you wish to depart and return. Indicate the number of adults, children, and infants traveling. The default value is one (1) for the number of adults traveling and zero (0) for the number of children & infants traveling. After all this information is entered into the appropriate boxes, hit the search button and the results will open in a new window.
The search can take up to a minute to be completed. After the search is completed, you will be shown a list of fares in the order of cheapest to the highest, regardless of which category they are part of. The fares listed on Mi-Travel are divided into two categories, bargain fares & special fares. Bargain fares are consolidator rates which are not available to the regular public. These fares are often sold to travel agents who apply their own mark-up before selling them to the public.
Since bargain fares are far lower priced then the regular fares, each fare needs to be checked for availability prior to completing the booking process. Thus, if you select "continue" for a bargain fare from the list of fares displayed it will take up to a minute to verify availability of the fare. In the event a fare is not available, you will be brought back to the search results allowing you to select a different fare.
However, if a fare is available a set of flight options available will be displayed. Select an outbound flight and an inbound flight and click "Continue" to the next page. After reviewing the total amount you will be charged, fill out the information about the name(s) of the passenger(s) and then agree to the terms and conditions by placing your initials in the box provided and click "Continue".
By agreeing to the terms and conditions it is understood as if you have read the stipulations within the terms and conditions. You will then be asked to enter credit card and payment information. You will need to complete everything with a red asterisk (*) and then scroll down to the bottom of page to click the "Finish Booking" button. Clicking the "Finish Booking" button will lead to us booking the flight. The data will be transmitted using SSL security feature. You will then receive an email conformation regarding if the booking was successful and a six letter, confirmation code will be displayed on your screen. A successful booking does not mean a booking has been ticketed. You will receive an email regarding if the booking has been ticketed.

Q:
Can I purchase a ticket for someone else on your site? |
Top of Page |
A:
As long as the credit card holder has a US or Canadian issued credit card that also has a US or Canadian billing address, that person can purchase an airline ticket for someone else. We, however, require further authorization in formal writing from the credit card holder either in an email, containing the credit card holder's name, number, address, and stating for who the charge is being made or by downloading our credit card authorization form and fax it over to us at (212) 685 - 5446. You need to be aware that many (though certainly not all international tickets are required to be issued as paper tickets by the airlines. Mi-Travel.com will only ship paper tickets to the billing address of the credit card holder. Therefore, if you want a paper ticket, or the airline requires you to purchase a paper ticket, you will then have to reship this ticket to the person you have bought this ticket for. You should also be aware that we verify the billing address of all credit card purchases and always call the phone number that the bank has on file to speak to the credit card holder to confirm that he/she has authorized the use of his/her credit card to purchase a ticket for someone else. |

1. Buy up to six tickets on one reservation and then the remaining tickets you want to purchase on the second reservation.
2. Put at least one adult in each reservation since we are unable to sell tickets to unaccompanied children.
3. Please send us an email regarding the two bookings with the confirmation code for both bookings.

Q:
Why won't your site let me purchase an eTicket? |
Top of Page |
A:
If the site is not allowing for an eTicket to be issued, it is because a paper ticket is required by the airline(s) you have selected to fly on for your particular route. |

Q:
How can I purchase a first or business class ticket? |
Top of Page |
A:

There are two different ways to purchase first/business class on our site. Your first option is for you to use our " Advanced Search" option which can be accessed through the "Air" tab located at the top of every page. Your other option is to call us or email us to inquire about first class or business class fares. It can take us up to 24-48 hours to respond to an email inquire. |
Q:
How do I purchase a ticket if I want to stop in multiple cities? |
Top of Page |
A:
If you need to purchase a ticket and would like to stop over in multiple cities you have two options before you. The first option is to purchase a series of open jaw tickets to complete your trip online. For instance, if you were to fly from New York to Paris to Madrid to London then you will need to purchase a ticket from New York to Paris with the return from Paris to Madrid and then another set of tickets from Madrid to London and on the return London to New York. Thus, in this scenario the total amount of open jaw tickets will be two (2).
Your second option would be to email or call us with your perspective itinerary and one of our experienced travel agents can assist you in this effort.

Q:

Q:
How do I know if I can purchase an eTicket? |
Top of Page |
A:
On the page where you enter in the passenger name you will see whether your ticket may be purchased as an eTicket. Over 97% of all tickets we sell are eTickets. We will only issue you a paper ticket if the airline(s) require it for your particular route, or you request a paper ticket. |
Q:
Why do I need to click on the "Continue" button to check if a seat is available? |
Top of Page |
A:
Due to the low price of these fares and their frequency of being sold-out, the number of available seats is always in question. To ensure you the best possible service, we conduct a search for an available seat each time to ensure you will have a seat on your desired flight. |

Q:
What is an eTicket? |
Top of Page |
A:
An eTicket is also referred to as an electronic ticket. eTickets are actually paperless tickets. Customers who purchase eTickets do not receive any type of printed ticket through the mail. eTickets remain the ticket of choice for most travelers because they cannot be lost and the traveler does not have to wait for the arrival of a paper ticket prior to flying. To use an eTicket bring a government-issued photo identification card (such as a drivers license) or passport to the airport with your printed copy of the itinerary. |

All you have to do is show up at your airline ticket counter at the airport, with a government issued photo ID and they will access your reservation on their computer and issue a boarding pass.
When an eTicket is not available, Paper Tickets will be delivered to the billing address listed on your credit card account, via Fed Ex/DHL for an additional fee of $15.00 per shipment for USA contiguous states, and $25.00 per shipment for Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, and other International destinations. |

Q:
How can I find the lowest airfare prices? |
Top of Page |
A:
The airlines do not release airfare sales at the same time each year. You will need to check the site periodically to view current prices. Here are some tips that usually produce the lowest fares:
- Consider flying on Tuesday thru Thursday, both departing and returning.
- The airlines will often cut the cost of a ticket significantly if you have a Saturday night stay over.
- Round trip tickets on the same airline are usually cheaper than one-way tickets.
- Try to book your flights at least 3 weeks in advance.
- If your destination is a smaller airport, it may be substantially cheaper to fly to a major airport that is less than 50 - 100 miles away and rent a car or have a friend pick you up. |

Q:

Q:
Will you be able to guarantee a fare for me? |
Top of Page |
A:
We are unable to guarantee any fare. All fares are subject to change without notice. A quoted fare is only available for a short window of time and can increase without notice. Theses changes in fare quotes are not made by Mi-Travel but instead by the airline(s). Making a booking does not guarantee a fare. A fare is only guaranteed if the booking related to the particular fare has been ticketed. |

Why won't you accept my credit card? |
Top of Page |
A:

So long as the credit card you are using was issued in the US or Canada and has a billing address in one of these countries, the only reasons your credit card would not be accepted would be one of the following:
- Your credit card company declines to approve the purchase.
- The information you entered regarding your credit card is incorrect.
- Certain airlines accept only specific credit cards. In this instance we would email you a list of what cards your particular airline will accept. |
